September 26 is the deadline for districts to submit their information for the annual superintendent salary survey. Results will be available in early November. HR Services sent the district personnel survey out September 16, and it should be completed by October 17.

Dan Troxell of Kerrville ISD was named Superintendent of the Year at the closing general session of the TASA/TASB Convention in Dallas. The annual awards program honors chief executive officers for their dedication to improving educational quality, developing board-superintendent relations, and commitment to community support.

Robert Seward, a board member in Mesquite ISD, became Association president at the close of  the TASA/TASB convention in Dallas. He has served on his local board of trustees since 1993 and TASB Board of Directors since 1998.
